Biography

The quartet has built a distinctive profile by performing both 19th-century repertoire and contemporary works, often in close collaboration with living composers. They have been invited to internationally renowned saxophone festivals, such as the FISP in Portugal, and their artistry has been recognized with distinctions including First Prize at the IX Victor Santos Chamber Competition (2023) and the 27th Josep Mirabent i Magrans Competition (2023), as well as awards from the Conservatory of the Liceu and other leading institutions.

Gisela Dekort

At the age of 16, the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation granted him one four-year scholarship to pursue higher studies at the Conservatory of Liceu, and was able to start his higher studies 2 years before the usual He has played as a soloist with the Orchestra of Castilla y León, Opera Dance Orchestra and Youth Symphony Arts. She has won a large number of international awards. The following should be highlighted: Award Extraordinaire interpretation at the Liceu Conservatory Foundation, 1st in the Sant Anastasi Instrumental Contest, 2nd in the V Contest International Youth Saxophone Andorra, 2nd to 3rd Competition Internazionale di saxophono "Exigentia", in Italy and was winner in competition Classic Pure Vienna 2021, and thus he was able to play as a soloist at the Mozarthaus in Vienna.

Juan David Toro

Juan David started playing the saxophone at the age of 11 and graduated in 2023 from the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Granada under the guidance of Professor Javier Linares Leyva. He has specialized in chamber music, excelling in saxophone quartets, with which he won First Prize at the National Competition for Women Composers (2022) and participated in the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival (2024).

As a soloist, he has won multiple international awards, including the II Gran Canaria Sax Competition (First Prize, 2022), the Mediterranean Sax Competition (First Prize, 2024), and the Rahn Kulturfonds scholarship (2025) among others. He has collaborated with the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada and the Joven Orquesta Sinfónica de Granada, in addition to participating in festivals such as the 3rd European Saxophone Congress (2024). Since 2023, he has been pursuing a Master’s degree in Performance at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste under the mentorship of Lars Mlekusch.

Pol del Moral

Third-year student of bachelor at the Liceu Superior Conservatory, in classical/contemporary saxophone. He has obtained several awards and recognitions such as: three times finalist in the BBVA competition for individual talent, having twice won the ACcat prize for the best interpretation of a Catalan work, 1st prize in the URV Young Soloists competition, "2nd prize" in the "International Music Competition 2023" (Vienna) among others, as well as being deserving of a four years scholarship for the Ferrer-Salat foundation to pursue bachelor studies.

He has also had the chance to participate in different chamber projects such as the Òh!Pera project at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, performing the micro-opera “Hi han monstres que viuen per la seva curiositat” by Carlos Castellarnau. As well as other chamber awards such as: 3rd prize in the Amics Cambra Romànica International Competition 2023 (Andorra), 2nd Prize in the Liceu Sax Festival International Chamber Competition 2023 (Cat) and Honorary Prize in the chamber specialty at the Terrassa Conservatory (2021).

Pol Cabrera

With great chamber music experience and accumulating several prizes and recognitions in the field of ensemble and individual music, he has had the opportunity to play as soloist with the Orchestre de Chambre Fribourgeois, the Real Philharmonic of Galicia, he has won the second prize in the category senior at the Murten Classics Valiant forum Wettbewerb, second prize at the IX Vitor Santos International Competition in Portugal, second prize in the Madridejos-Sax 22' international competition and has had the honor of receiving a scholarship from the Ferrer Salat Foundation.

He was a founding member of the Delia Quartet, with whom he won the Extraordinary Prize for Chamber Music and the Second Prize of the Andorran Romanesque Chamber Competition, among others. He has received master classes from great saxophonists such as Vincent David, Claude Delangle, Daniel Gauthier, Xavier Larsson, Paweł Gusnar, among many others. He also has performed as a soloist accompanied by the Banda del Liceu
